What counts as a Skill?
A Skill is any repeatable, expert-driven workflow encoded as instructions. The core format is a SKILL.md file, and you can bundle references, scripts and configs with it.
If a colleague could follow your steps and get a useful result, it can be a Skill. Typical examples:
- A research process that turns raw sources into a briefing
- A screening method for stocks, products or candidates
- A content system — hooks, scripts and storyboards
- A specialist assistant for a niche you already know well
Three ways to earn from one Skill
Capafy turns your Skill into a Skill-based agent with three revenue modes, so you can match the model to the work:
- Subscribe mode — recurring revenue, closed-source
- Rent mode — earn by the hour, closed-source
- Download mode — a one-time payment
From repo to revenue in three steps
Publishing is deliberately short. The work is in the Skill itself, not in the paperwork:
- Upload — submit your Skill package: SKILL.md plus any references and scripts
- Describe — write the Agent Card: what it does, who it is for and why it is worth paying for
- Publish — pass the publisher check, go live, and watch orders arrive in your dashboard
What it costs, and what you keep
Capafy takes a 20% revenue share per transaction — you keep 80%. A one-time US$0.99 certification fee applies when you first publish.
For subscribed Skills, a Platform Sandbox Fee is deducted before the split. Rent and Download modes have no Platform Sandbox Fee.
Getting your first sales
The marketplace rewards agents that make their value obvious. A few habits that work:
- Name the outcome, not the technology — buyers search for results
- Write the Agent Card the way a buyer thinks, and pick the right category
- A free or trial listing lets early customers experience the Skill before they pay
- Sales and ratings compound — every review makes the next sale easier
